Команду «Умники и умницы» составляли студенты: Мартынова Маргарита и Иванов Александр (группа Д-21), Ярославцев Владислав (Д-22), Витченко Виктория и Макаренко Дмитрий (группа Д-12), Караибрагим-Оглы Кемран и Неловкин Александр (группа Т-12), Иванцов Иван и Русханов Равиль (группа Т-21). Против них играла команда «Знатоки» в составе: Глаголев Алексей и Приходько Виталий (группа Т-22), Новойдарский Максим и Николаев Даниил (группа А-11), Иванов Евгений и Энгельс Мария (группа Д-11), Федякова Юлия (группа А-21), Процанов Кирилл и Сергеев Ростислав (группа Т-11).
Между командами развернулась нешуточная борьба: всем хотелось доказать своё превосходство в общих знаниях. Не оставались в стороне и болельщики, которые активно помогали игрокам жестами, мимикой, а иногда и просто «дружным шёпотом».
